My suspicions have been confirmed.

I have long held the belief that, on average, the people who frequent Wal-Mart have significantly poorer tastes than other people. I realize, this makes me sound like a snob. However, I have never seen more mullets, Crocs, mom jeans, camel toe, and plumber's crack than I have in Wal-Mart. To make matters worse, their top-selling DVDs and CDs tend to be really crappy stuff like anything related to The Blue Collar Comedy Tour guys (*barf*) or Toby Keith (*gag*).

I was reading an article from Hollywood Reporter confirming my suspicion that season 3 of The Office would sell like hotcakes. (Which it did, by the way. It was the DVD best seller for its debut week. Hecks yes!) Unfortunately, that happy news was tainted by another piece of information:

"Delta Farce," a PG-13 comedy starring Larry the Cable Guy, topped some sales charts around the country and reportedly overperformed at some of the nation's biggest retailers, including Wal-Mart.

*Sigh.*

This makes me sympathize with all foreigners who think Americans have poor taste, especially in fashion and media. Seriously, lots of us do. But not me, of course. And probably not you, either.
